In order to bring superior quality products to our customers, we are adding an Area Sales Manager (ASM) to the Team. The right individual will understand our brand & products, think critically and creatively, and most importantly…develop and grow strong business relationships with our customers.
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new retail business and managing current retail business with the overall goal of growing sales, increasing efficiency and profit margin, and providing consistent product, program, operations and marketing support to Bridgestone retail partners.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identifying, qualifying, closing and growing new accounts
- Stewarding and expanding existing Bridgestone business
- Developing and delivering product demonstrations, marketing opportunities & program support
- Training consumer-facing retail partners in all aspects of tire sales from retail selling tactics to product knowledge to customer opportunities
- Identifying strategic opportunities in ancillary programs (B2B, government, car dealer and national account sales)
- Providing and executing location-specific assortment plans for “core” stocking items
- Exercising strong enterprise decision making, finding creative ways to support the customer while increasing profitability for Bridgestone
- Supporting forecasting and end-to-end logistics
- Serving the customer and your teammates with excellence through relationships

- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of sales experience, successfully closing new business while growing and renewing existing customer base
- Enjoy travel (approx. 75%)
- Maintain an innovative attitude while creating strategies for existing customer growth and new lead generation
- Ability to understand your customer, develop strategies for success, execute your strategy, and monitor success
- Flexibility to evolve as needed for sustainable growth
- Be able to conduct high level conversations with decision makers
- Display personal integrity that allows you to rise above your competition
- Lead your customers with honesty, servanthood, excellence, discipline and accountability
