Position Summary
The Process Engineering Team Lead position focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised concepts. This manager position leads experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. This position requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a frequent basis.
Responsibilities
- Implements policy and strategy for short-term results and influences others outside of their own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures
- Coordinates, manages, and tracks all plant-wide process related and quality improvement activities/ projects.
- Organizes, leads, and directs Kaizen projects and improvements related to their area and/or the process engineering department to drive plant quality metrics
- Develop and deploy strategic plans in plant to drive reduction in DMLR and productivity improvement
- Influences, coaches, and develops direct reports
Manages team to apply process engineering principles to deliver customer technical/functional specifications, budget adherence, automation/continuous improvement of processes, and cost/efficiency requirements - Collaborates with plant Engineering and Tech Services Team to develop, design, implement and test new technology and kaizen modifications
Creates and manages institutional knowledge - Designs arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout
- Designs the sequence of operations, specifies procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapts machinery in response to conditions
- Conducts tests throughout all stages to determine control over applicable variables and prevents/solves problems
- Ensures that processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
- Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering/Technical field and minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- 2+ years experience managing and leading cross function teams
- Experience in managing projects
- Strong interest in mentoring new Engineers and developing future Engineering talent.
