Position Summary
As Indirect Procurement, Logistics & Supply Chain, this individual will lead all aspects of business management as it relates to Logistics & Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing and optimizing total value and quality. In conjunction with impacted stakeholders, this position is responsible to execute and deliver optimal value in meeting business requirements, managing supplier relationships and subsequent supplier performance.
Scope includes but not limited to ensuring data collection, market analysis, sourcing, cost model analysis, sourcing award, implementation across various business units and/or functional areas, contract administration and compliance monitoring for assigned categories as applicable.
Responsibilities
Working with the appropriate business units and functional team members, the Indirect Procurement Manager will provide leadership and oversight on indirect categories. These include, but are not limited to:
- Logistics & Supply Chain.
Truckload, LTL & Flatbed.
Rail/Intermodal & Ocean Freight.
Small Parcel.
Fleet & Fleet Services.
Warehouse Services.
3PL/4PL Providers.
Packaging (Corrugated, Pallets, labels etc.)
Leasing Programs (Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Equipment, Vehicles, etc.)
Working in collaboration with the noted team members and understanding their needs and requirements, the role will:
Manage procurement process for designated materials and services to reduce the total cost of goods & services while increasing overall value.
Lead and enhance supplier and internal to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
Provide procurement support to all functional areas, ensuring procurement representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business requirements.
Analyze market trends and report substantial issues / resolution plan(s) to management if applicable.
Develop sourcing strategies and work plans, driving to completion (i.e. commodity & supplier strategies, projects....as applicable).
Resolve issues related to quality, cost, delivery.
Manage and enhance supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous improvement efforts impacting quality, cost, delivery and service, in support of multiple business unit locations and/or functional areas.
Commodity Specific Knowledge:
Prior designated commodity and/or materials' buying experience.
Advanced commodity knowledge:
Logistics/Supply Chain, Packaging, Equipment Leasing Programs.
Supplier Diversity Program Management & Execution.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy Management & Execution.
Global (as applicable) and regional markets/supply base insight.
Cost driver structure.
Budgeting/Financial Oversight; Business, industry and commodity acumen.
Foundational Job Know-How:
Prior management of Direct and/or Indirect goods and/or services buying experience in a centralized, decentralized (SBU) or plant environment.
Contract development, management & oversight.
Strategy development including but not limited to:
Supplier segmentation/rationalization.
Spend analysis & costing models.
SWOT analysis.
Proficient in "Problem Solving Decision Making".
Minimum Qualifications

Advanced procurement fundamentals:
Strategic Sourcing; RFP/RFQ.
Bid analysis/award.
Negotiation strategy & teammate coaching/development.
Supplier leadership interface.
Advanced, complex problem solving; able to identify key issues and effectively coordinate effort to achieve resolution cross- functionally.
People leadership & teamwork; able to build alliances with focus on customer orientation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products and SAP.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain and/or related area required; advanced degree preferred.
Preferred certifications: CPM.
Strategic and/or Operational Procurement experience (5+years).
Ability to multitask and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.
