Firestone Polymers, LLC is headquartered in Akron, Ohio and manufactures polymers and synthetic rubber in our world-class ISO 9001:2000/14001 registered plants located in Lake Charles, Louisiana and Orange, Texas. Firestone has a unique anionic polymerization technology allows production of high purity, high molecular weight polybutadiene and a wide range of block, random, and vinyl modified styrene-butadiene copolymers. Position Summary
This position is located in Lake Charles, LA and offers some flexibility in the work schedule. Most teammates work four, 10 hour days, Monday through Thursday but five, 8 hour days Monday through Friday is also an option. Although the position is posted in other geographical areas, the position is located onsite at our Lake Charles, LA plant and relocation assistance is being offered! We are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
This Reliability Engineer position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.
Responsibilities
- Developing and Implementing Reliability Programs
- Investigating the root causes of failures and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Identifying areas for improvement in design, manufacturing, and operations to enhance reliability and performance.
- Working closely with design, manufacturing, maintenance, and operations teams to integrate reliability principles
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to reliability and reporting on performance and areas for improvement.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance engineering work
- Perform engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts
- Develop and implement continuous improvement/proactive maintenance strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in reliability analysis and modeling techniques.
- Experience with failure analysis and reliability testing.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Experience with reliability prediction tools (FEMA, etc).
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; OR 3+ years of relevant experience.
