Position Summary
The Bandag plant in Oxford has been in operation for over 50 years, producing tread rubber and retreading materials for Bandag dealers. Bandag is a critical piece of Bridgestone dedicated to the research, development, and manufacturing of premium retread tires. Bridgestone seeks energetic and motivated Maintenance Technicians to join our manufacturing team in Oxford, NC. As a Maintenance Technician, you will focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production equipment.
12 Hour Night Shift
•$3000 sign on Bonus

Responsibilities
As part of the Maintenance Team you will be working to deliver solutions to improve our process reliability, product quality and plant-wide performance.
Some of the duties include:
- Provide on site mechanical support, guidance and assistance during plant activities that include start-ups, process and technology transfers, and major process changes.
- Need to have good mechanical aptitude and ability to do mathematical calculations, statistical knowledge and understand the principles of physics. Must be able to understand and trouble-shoot ladder logic.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical equipment
- Able to write and perform Work Orders as necessary to achieve stated objectives.
- Able to troubleshoot equipment.
- Collaborate with plant employees to carry out work orders.
- Perform data collection and statistical analysis
- Complete reports summarizing results and conclusions.
- Maintain technical competence in advancing technology via frequent training courses, on the job training, vendor schools, seminars, industry associations and publications.
- Perform mechanical or technical training as needed to areas within the plant that are identified as developmental opportunities.
- Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards and codes;
- Self-motivated and highly organized with good time management skills

- Controls experience is a plus:
- Maintaining backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation;
- Manage SCADA type devices in an industrial based environment
- Installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital);
- Configuring and programming Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC);
- Organize and order PLC control components in order to maintain plant process control systems.
- Work with corporate IT staff as required with miscellaneous network and computer activities.
- Prepare technical reports for documenting issues/changes to equipment.
- Manage projects for implementing changes and improvements.
- Installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections;
- Inspecting and testing the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults;
- Removing, repairing, adjusting and replacing components;
- Calibrating components and systems;
- Assisting engineering in plant design, modification and hazard analysis;
- Maintaining various computer-based control systems;
- Performing scheduled maintenance programs; and,
- Keeping up-to-date with advances in technology in industry and the trade
- Some of the instruments include transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, recorders, controllers and final control elements.
- They are used in industry to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force and chemical composition.
- Work in alignment with and support Bandag Mission, Core Values, Quality Statements and Plant Mission Statement.
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks across multiple projects
- Proven experience in PLC logic and programming with Allen Bradley PLC’s and other types of controllers preferred
- Ability to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up
- Candidate has a High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Associates, specialized training or Bachelors is preferred
