Position Summary
We’re currently looking for a North American Internal Controls Manager to join our team in Nashville, TN. This role will be responsible for providing guidance and support regarding financial risks and mitigating controls for Bridgestone Americas. The position will serve as the primary contact and resource for leadership within various Divisions and Corporate functions who are responsible for control related activities and will provide ongoing support and guidance. The role requires an expert understanding of the risks of financial misstatement to appropriately assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
Responsibilities
Leads a team of up to three junior and senior control analysts.
Owns J-SOX control design and documentation as well as related coordination with management, Internal Audit (IA) and the Company’s external auditors.
Evaluates the adequacy and completeness of process owners control documentation and the identification of key controls.
Facilitates annual financial risk assessment process to guide compliance scoping activities.
Leverages and administrates any available software or other authoritative guidance.
Supports governance over internal controls as well as related Finance and Accounting policy.
Provides advisory services where management has sought input for topics impacting financial statement risk.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance – CPA strongly preferred.
Minimum 4-6 years of progressive experience in Internal Control/Finance. Preferably Big 4 public accounting in external audit
Knowledge and experience with US GAAP, PCAOB Standards, Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the COSO 2013 control framework, and familiarity with internal control concepts, practices, and procedures.
Prior experience interacting with and supporting executive leadership.
Understanding of financial close and consolidation process.
Experience planning, executing, and delivering large projects.
