Position Summary
The Director level Internal Consultant will be a multi-site Advisor and be responsible for leading the vision and execution of Bridgestone’s Manufacturing Excellence (BME) rollout. This role will support multiple Manufacturing facilities across the Americas.
The BME Internal Consultant Director drives manufacturing excellence by implementing a proprietary, culture-driven framework to achieve zero losses and 100% employee ownership. In this role, you will lead, train, and coach teams on multiple manufacturing pillars—such as Autonomous Maintenance and Focused Improvement—to optimize SQCDME (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, Environment) performance.
***Our ideal candidate would be based in the Nashville metro; however, could work remotely with travel as needed to corporate headquarters and plants***
Responsibilities
In this challenging role, you will drive operational excellence by implementing lean manufacturing principles, such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and BME pillars, to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity within company plants. You will analyze performance metrics, coach teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
A BME Internal Consultant will:
- Assure BME activities have a connection to loss elimination that will deliver required CBN results
- Coach of BME technologies and approaches in all pillars to include on-the-floor activities
- Assessor of integrated activity implementation and standards calibrator with leadership team.
- Participates in all phase assessments to provide a calibrated and objective viewpoint
- Capture and disseminate Current Best Practices worthy of reapplication
- Develop capability in leadership teams and especially in the BME manager whom they qualify
- Diagnose activities and identify technical know-how and organization behaviors that are barriers to implementation.
- Provide feedback to leadership teams that cause them to take action.
- Share and receive learnings with and from other Bridgestone Manufacturing leaders to foster global skill development.
- Working with GBU lead sites or pilots and initiatives as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
A strong candidate will possess:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Operations, Business or related field; MBA Preferred
- 10+ years of continuous improvement and manufacturing leadership experience
- IWS deep knowledge, specifically post/current P&G experience or other companies that have implemented IWS
- Plant / operational experience roles ideally in the environment of Phase 2/Phase 3 sites
- Exceptional communication skills; comfortable developing content and driving leadership discussions, and effectively leading working teams
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification highly beneficial
- Bilingual in Spanish or French would be highly advantageous
- Ability to travel, as needed (25-40%)
