Production Sites in Latin America

We operate manufacturing sites in Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Mexico, where we produce tires for passenger vehicles, pickup trucks, and commercial trucks, as well as agricultural and off‑road machinery, tread bands, industrial products, polymers, and more. Argentina

Bridgestone celebrated its 100th anniversary of production in Argentina in 2016, although its presence in the country began with the Firestone brand in 1915, which became part of Bridgestone in 1988 when it was acquired. Bridgestone Argentina produces and markets a wide range of tire designs and sizes for passenger vehicles, pickup trucks, and commercial trucks, as well as agricultural and off‑road machinery. Bridgestone operates a plant located in Llavallol, certified and recognized across all areas of quality, safety, and environmental performance. Bridgestone Argentina markets its products through a broad network of retail points and currently supplies tires to the most prestigious original equipment manufacturers.

Camaçari, Bahia – Brasil

Bridgestone Camaçari is a tire manufacturing plant located in Camaçari, Bahia, Brazil, producing a variety of tires for passenger vehicles, trucks, and light trucks. The plant, inaugurated in 2007, has undergone significant investments to modernize its facilities and expand its production capacity, including the adoption of advanced technology to manufacture high‑performance tires in a more sustainable way. The Camaçari plant employs more than 1,300 people and is part of Bridgestone’s regional growth strategy in Brazil.

Santo André, Brasil

The Bridgestone factory in Santo André, Brazil, traces its history back to 1988, when Bridgestone purchased the former Firestone plant. This acquisition transformed Bridgestone into one of the largest tire and rubber companies in the world, giving the company a significant presence in Latin America. The Santo André plant is one of the company’s oldest facilities in Brazil and specializes in the production of various types of tires. The Santo André site is the oldest in Brazil, with the capacity to produce up to 35,000 tires per day thanks to the work and expertise of the nearly 2,000 team members who manufacture each of the product lines in which this plant specializes: industrial and off‑the‑road tires.

Campinas (SP) y Mafra (SC), Bandag Brasil

Bandag, a Bridgestone company dedicated to the research, development, and manufacturing of tread bands, operates in Brazil with two sites located in Campinas (SP), with more than 35 years of history, and Mafra (SC).

Cuernavaca, Morelos – Mexico

Bridgestone’s roots in Mexico date back to 1937 with the creation of Compañía Hulera El Centenario, which was acquired in 1958 by The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. At the end of 2008, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) announced the new corporate name for all companies within the group worldwide, and as a result, the company in Mexico adopted its current name: Bridgestone de México, S.A. de C.V. After nearly eight decades of operation, in 2015 Bridgestone Mexico celebrated the production of its 100 millionth tire at the Cuernavaca plant, further solidifying its position as the undisputed leader in tire manufacturing and sales in Mexico. The company generates more than 1,300 direct jobs that positively impact the community and contribute to strengthening the local economy. With a production capacity of up to 24,000 tires per day, the Cuernavaca plant represents a strategic component for the company.

Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León – México

The Bridgestone plant in Monterrey is located in Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León, and manufactures tires for passenger vehicles and light trucks. It was inaugurated in 2007 with an investment of more than 200 million dollars and is the first in Mexico to operate with BIRD (Bridgestone Innovative and Rational Development), a fully automated manufacturing technology. Production—estimated at 8,000 tires per day—is primarily destined for the United States and Canadian markets.

Heredia, Belén – Costa Rica

Bridgestone in Costa Rica began operations in 1967 as Firestone de Costa Rica, initially manufacturing 425 tires per day. In 1996, following Bridgestone’s global acquisition of Firestone in 1988, the company entered a strategic partnership with Bridgestone Corporation and changed its name to Firestone de Costa Rica, S.A. In 2009, it officially became Bridgestone de Costa Rica. Today, the plant is the only tire manufacturer in Central America and the Caribbean, employing more than 1,000 Costa Ricans and producing around 12,000 tires per day for various domestic and international markets.

Turrialba, Costa Rica

With more than 15 years since the patent of the original air spring, Firestone Airide—formerly Firestone Industrial Products—continues to lead and innovate in air spring technology. The company has driven the growth of global transportation infrastructure as the number‑one air spring manufacturer worldwide and the largest supplier of air springs for the electric vehicle industry. Firestone Airide has a global presence with manufacturing plants, including our site in Turrialba, Costa Rica. Firestone Airide also has a strong presence in the automotive aftermarket with its auxiliary air spring systems and is exploring new applications—such as medical and scientific equipment—that require a high level of vibration isolation.
