Bridgestone Latin America North

Bridgestone Latin America North (BS-LAN) is a business unit made up of Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, as well as Central American and Caribbean countries. It is part of Bridgestone Americas Inc., the U.S.-based subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, a global leader in tires and rubber, leveraging its expertise to provide solutions for safe and sustainable mobility.

BS-LAN employs more than 2,500 people who deliver value to society and customers through manufacturing plants and commercial offices located in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Colombia. Bridgestone offers a broad portfolio of premium tires and advanced solutions backed by innovative technologies that enhance the way people around the world move, live, work, and play.

The history of Bridgestone in Costa Rica began in 1967 with Industrias Firestone de Costa Rica, which operated with 200 employees and produced 425 tires per day. In 1988, the parent company was acquired by Bridgestone Corporation. In 1996, the company name was changed to Firestone de Costa Rica, S.A. due to a strategic alliance. The transition to Bridgestone de Costa Rica took place in 2009. Today, the plant is the only tire manufacturer in Central America and the Caribbean, and in 2015 it became part of the Bridgestone Latin America North (BS-LAN) business unit.
