Position Summary
We are seeking a Materials Planner like you to join our amazing Nashville, TN corporate office.
As a Materials Planner, you will be responsible for purchasing the raw materials necessary for the organization's manufacturing operations. Activities include, but are not limited to order planning, placing orders, ensuring on time delivery, and maintaining targeted inventory levels. Position works closely with manufacturing, operations, and various corporate functions. You will be planning, scheduling, and managing the efficient movement of raw materials from origin to production. This role is also responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and material control systems activities related to material control and inventory control functions. You will be ensuring materials are ordered and in stock while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Developing material delivery schedules and coordinating the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering. You will use raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production. You will be coordinating incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules; use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. You will be compiling data on order volume; production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements; may negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery.

Responsibilities
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure uninterrupted raw material supply to the organization’s operations.
- Issue/maintain purchase orders in alignment with targeted inventory requirements.
- Act as window between the business and supply base, focusing on cost/process improvements as well as supplier relationship management.
- Analyze forecast and usage data to drive raw material fulfillment efficiencies.
- Support all Procurement business continuity planning activity.
- Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals.
- Applies research towards the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects.
- Impact is short-term, occasionally on medium-term goals.
- Continues building knowledge of organization and processes.
- May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
Typically requires a bachelor degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
