Position Summary
Lead strategy and direction of Service Under Car categories. Collaborate with other members of the Merchandising team including Pricing Manager and Director, Service Merchandising to develop strategies to maximize sales and profit of categories. Manages financial performance for assigned categories. Transformational leader that can optimize processes/resources and challenge the organization.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Manages sales and profits for categories and acts as primary point of contact with vendor team. Develop strategies to maximize revenue and profitability
Collects, verifies and analyzes data on industry market trends, supplier and consumer behavior and competitor activity to identify market opportunities
Develop and implement new long and short term strategies, policies and procedures impacting product merchandising including but not limited to product introduction/discontinuation, product knowledge in POS, education material and in store merchandising to assure proper reflection of merchandising strategy
Leads cross-functional participants (Education, Operations, Procurement and Marketing) in driving category strategies and achieving category objectives
Perform various reporting including sales reports, margin opportunities, promotional analysis, line and sku analysis, etc and prepare presentations for Executive Leadership Team to summarize results
Creates marketing/promotional plans that drive success with the BOSS
Makes Pricing and Capital Investment recommendations
Minimum Qualifications
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Training & Development
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum 2 to 4 years retail experience in merchandising, finance, accounting or marketing.
Demonstrated extensive systems knowledge and familiarity with various applications.
Demonstrated solid grasp of data flow management.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Strong modeling and forecasting skills.
