Position Summary
The Lead Environmental Engineer (LEE) is a key member within the Environmental Affairs (EA) team and is responsible for the environmental component of Bridgestone Americas (BSAM) EHS management platform (Intelex), Environmental Affairs EMS deployment including document control and environmental compliance and corporate programs.
With internal and external support, this role administers and maintains environmental data management processes and systems while functioning as the EA liaison to other internal groups with respect to Intelex. This also includes projects management and day-to-day operations (troubleshooting, etc.) to ensure the system is functioning as required for all internal and external stakeholders.
In conjunction, this role will lead/drive BSAM Environmental Affairs EMS, incorporating a structured framework to enhance sustainability, comply with regulations and foster continuous improvement. Additionally, this role is responsible for completing site environmental assessments (2nd line), authoring BSAM standards and guidance documents as well as serving as a technical consultant and liaison to Business Units and facilities with potential for global reach.
Responsibilities
Lead, administer and maintain environmental portion of Intelex EHS Management Platform managing and operating as liaison to other internal groups (e.g. H&S and Quality) providing technical support, troubleshooting, oversight, budget management and operational improvements
Implement corporate programs including SPCC, refrigerant, Title V and NESHAPs
Manage consultants and projects to ensure deliverables are on-time and on-budget
Lead BSAM EMS for Environmental Affairs group including document control
Assist with environmental assessment gap analysis to understand environmental risks across the enterprise
Assist in procedure development, standardization, and program implementation. This includes authoring and deploying corporate environmental standards required
Complete environmental assessments at various locations across the enterprise
Interpret data and provide recommendations to improve facility compliance
Identify, track, and report on key performance Indicators relevant to environmental aspects and impacts to drive accountability and performance measurement
Identify and monitor global regulatory compliance issues as they emerge and apply to BSAM locations (e.g. CBAM, Canada, California, etc.)
Bachelor degree in Engineering/Environmental or similar discipline required, MBA a plus
3+ years in related role preferred
Working environmental regulatory knowledge (RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP, NESHAP and Title V)
Intelex & PowerBi experience preferred
Ability to perform and/or capacity to learn complex environmental data modeling and analytics using extensive data sets
Exceptional systems skills, understand data sources and data mining leadership
High level of critical thinking capability and ability to influence/inform all levels of organization
Project Management experience preferred
Excellent proficiency with the Microsoft suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Strong organizational agility to enhance cross-functional communication and collaboration
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of organization
Strong ability to self-direct work with broad guidance and input from management
Ability to travel around 10-25% of the time
