Position Summary
The Repair & Maintenance Engineering position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. A Supervisor position supervises professional level employees (typically entry or experienced level) and may also supervise some para-professional employees. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex.
Schedule: 8 Hour Night Shift
Responsibilities
• Responsibilities typically include setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results and ensuring policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications
• Perform engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts
• Liaise with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Supervise team to explore and implement continuous improvement/automation activities
• Other duties as assigned
